This piece was one of the First Original Set of Six Houses EVER Made by Dept 56, back in 1976. As a bit of interesting trivia, these Villages came about through the Inspiration of Walter Brockmann, who owned and operated a small studio that made small village buildings in the 1960's and '70s. The Dept 56 Original Snow Village pieces, produced through " Bachmann's Floral" in Minneapolis, MN; were first offered to the public for sale from retailers in 1977.
